Soak in a cedar hot tub and Renu cold plunge nestled in an oak grove, then sleep in our A Frame or one of our two luxurious yurt-like tents. Venture into the clearing with open skies for truly amazing starry views at night. It's a peaceful retreat surrounded by pines and oaks, yet is still less than 15 minutes from the historic Gold Mining towns of Nevada City and Grass Valley. A composting toilet is housed in a beautiful, well maintained outhouse and a heated outdoor shower is located next to the hot tub and cold plunge. These as well as the hot tub/cold plunge area are shared between our two sites. PLEASE NOTE: While many guests have found each spot to feel private, it's important to mention that these are located in a large clearing behind our house. You'll have ample space and privacy, with the added convenience of having someone nearby if you need anything. This site features a chandeliered yurt-like tent sitting on a platform deck tucked between towering ponderosa pines. It's fully furnished with a large king bed. Your private outdoor table and chairs is located a few steps away. We always provide luxe robes and bath slippers to make it a really special spa experience at no extra cost. :) Please note we are Bring-Your-Own-Bedding unless you select the Bedding option at check-out. Bring your pillow cases, sheets, and comforter/sleeping-bag. Using your own bedding reduces the environmental impact of laundering sheets for every stay, and helps keep your trip affordable. Either way, we provide mattresses and pillows. A composting toilet is housed in a beautiful, well maintained outhouse and a heated outdoor shower is located next to the hot tub and cold plunge. These as well as the hot tub/cold plunge area are shared between our three sites. Check in time is 2PM, and check out time is 11AM This tent is closer to the house than Cedar, but is a shorter walk from parking (less than a minute walk). Ours is a great spot for people who want a nice, cozy place to sleep, but plan to be exploring Nevada City/Grass Valley, enjoying local festivals, or hanging out at the Yuba River for most of their visit. We do not yet have an outdoor kitchen, but you are welcome to bring a camp stove. This site features a chandeliered yurt-like tent sitting on a platform deck partly shaded by a lush incense cedar. It's fully furnished with a queen bed and futon. We also have a shady hammock spot + tree chair for loungers and readers. It is a little more removed from the main house than our Ponderosa, so you can have a greater sense of privacy. There is a bit of a walk downhill from parking - about 300 ft. It sleeps up to three people. Please note we are Bring-Your-Own-Bedding unless you select the Bedding option at check-out. Bring your pillow cases, sheets, and comforter/sleeping-bag. Using your own bedding reduces the environmental impact of laundering sheets for every stay, and helps keep your trip affordable. Either way, we provide mattresses and pillows. We also always provide luxe robes and bath slippers to make it a really special spa experience at no extra cost. :) A composting toilet is housed in a beautiful, well maintained outhouse and a heated outdoor shower is located next to the hot tub and cold plunge. We do not yet have an outdoor kitchen, but you are welcome to bring a camp stove. **Please note that this is an off-grid cabin, and therefore can take a little more work during your stay (ie managing a fireplace for heat, running air conditioning for only a few hours a day, hand pumping water for dishes, keeping an eye on energy use)** Enjoy a private, cozy, unique A Frame, complete with solar powered air conditioning, fireplace, as well as a refrigerator, sink and propane camping stove in the tiny house kitchen. Ellie and Jack set a really high bar for our first time using Hipcamp. They were incredibly responsive to any of our questions and made the experience super smooth. We were in awe of the set up in and around the tent the whole time during our trip. The tent was super cozy and comfortable, the outdoor shower was amazing, the hot tub under the stars was memorable, and I could really keep going. Lots of stuff in the area to explore and after 3 days there is only feels like we scratched the surface. Looking forward to going back sometime soon!

Charming and cozy! We loved the A frame. So many great, comfortable touches in the cabin. Clear instructions and quick responses from hosts. The hot tub under the stars was a treat, along with cold plunge and shower. It’s close to Nevada City and other great destinations north, like the Yuba River. We plan to go back with friends to stay in the 2 yurts on the property. Thanks you to the hosts.

We had an incredible time! The A frame was perfect for a weekend getaway! Location is close enough to amenities but feels remote too! The hot tub was so relaxing and everything was perfect! Ellie and Jacks communicated wonderfully!

Awesome little spot! We stayed in the A-frame which was super cozy and comfortable. The cabin has pretty much anything you could need and Ellie and Jack were quick to respond to any questions we had. We didn’t give the cold plunge a try but the hot tub was delightful in the evenings. Would come back again!

Great little cabin, just far enough from town, but close enough for drinks and food if needed. The hot tub is great, we stayed in the A frame cabin outside of their yurt season, so we did not have to share the hot tub with anyone.

This is a very special property, and we thouroughly enjoyed our stay. Make sure to take advantage of the hot tub/cold plunge. Close to town, but just far enough out. A-frame is very cozy, and small, but just big enough to make it a romantic dance. Loved the wood burning stove, and robes!

We loved the A-frame and found it to be such a charming, refreshing weekend getaway. Ellie and Jack were wonderful hosts and were extremely accommodating and kind. The property is quiet and beautiful—we felt there was lots of privacy but were close enough to town that it was easy to go do things. The cabin itself is really well designed and they thought about so many details which made our stay easy and comfortable. We hope to be back!

We made last-min change of plans due to the atmospheric river and avoiding snow, and Ellie & Jack were so accommodating! Perhaps it was the pouring rain lol, but we struggled to locate the A frame behind the house in the dark (despite the instructions & lanterns provided by E&J), so recommend arriving before nightfall if possible. We used the unit's camping stove & fridge & mini fireplace (so cozy!), and soaked in the hot tub. We even had a lovely view of the Orion constellation thru the A frame window when the clouds broke on Sat eve! Even the composting toilet was a delightful experience. Highly recommend!

It was absolutely beautiful and I loved the little features and thoughtful details of the A frame. I paid extra for the bedding which was so cozy. The hosts went the extra mile with creating quick videos on how to use the wood burning stove and I loved making my fires each morning. Not to mention the cedar hot tub was amazing at the end of a cold day hike!

Staying on Ellie + Jack’s land was truly magical! The A-Frame is so cute and was the perfect experience for us. The hosts were super helpful in making sure we knew how to operate the stove to warm the cabin and to make sure we had everything we needed! The hot tub was a big plus, and the property felt like a nice, quiet fall wonderland. We spent a lot of time in downtown Nevada City, which was easy to drive to from the cabin. It really was a perfect autumnal trip!

A Perfect Mini Retreat

My partner and I had a wonderful weekend at the A Frame! Ellie + Jack are fabulous hosts; they made sure we were comfy and they communicated well. All the wonderful amenities made this trip stress-free, and any stress we did have melted away while stargazing in the hot tub. We lucked out and had the place to ourselves (the other 2 sites were not occupied) and it got me thinking how fun it would be to come with a larger group. Ellie + Jack had great suggestions for activities in the area, including the delicious Communal Cafe that we HAD to visit twice. Looking forward to a relaxing Girls' Trip in the future! :) Thank you!

We stayed at the cedar site for the weekend and enjoyed their property. You can tell they really take care of their property and we loved all the extras they provided like robes, extra fans, lights and the hot tub! This was our first hip camp stay so I was a little concerned about staying on someone's property but I would totally stay again here.

Super cute yurts on a quiet property. Easy to get to, cell service, and close to downtown Nevada city. We loved the hot tub. The bed in ponderosa was comfy and the yurt stayed warm at night. Super unique. Would recommend.

I LOVED my stay there! I did a little solo glamping trip and Ellie and Jack's place was perfect! The hot tub at night was dream like and the bed is to comfortable! Super close to town and hiking trails! 100% will be going back!

Loved staying here ! Ellie was very responsive and understanding. It was nice getaway from reality. Sad it had to be only two night but will love to come again ! Tent was kept well, they provided pillows, lamps, fans & generators for charging phones etc. Bed and couch was comfy. Overall 10/10 Would love to come again !

Loved the A frame. It was outfitted with everything you need and more. All we had to do was bring food and clothes. The bed on the same level as the big windows was awesome and spacious. Hot tub , cold plunge shower were all top notch.

This is the type of place you hope won’t get too hyped that you can’t book, but you also want the owners to do well so you can come back and enjoy it for years to come! This was our first time glamping and it makes me never want to go back to regular camping! We stayed in Ponderosa/king with our dog. The hosts put so much lovely detail into the space and created such an awesome vibe. There was a table with chairs under an ez-up, and a sink nearby to wash dishes. The bathroom was a little far away, but that’s the only “complaint,” if you could call it that. The campsites were spaced out nicely so we felt like we had plenty of privacy. The hosts were very responsive and made us feel welcome. We spent the day at Fuller Lake, the emerald pools, and enjoyed the mornings and evenings at camp. The outdoor shower was lovely after a day at the lake. I loved being able to freshen up before grabbing dinner in downtown Grass Valley. We didn’t try the hot tub or cold plunge because our schedule didn’t permit, but I’d love to come back soon to bask at the stars in the tub. Ellie + Jack, thank you for curating such an awesome place for us to enjoy!

Amazing Weekend Getaway Spot

Had an amazing weekend getaway at Ellie and Jack's glamping site. Saw so many stars at night and deers during the day. The tent bed was very comfy. The nearby Nevada City town had a great vibe; we were lucky to catch the Saturday morning farmer's market. The hot tube was amazing. I also tried the composite toilet for the first time, which was kept very clean. Ellie and Jack were also very responsive to my questions. Overall, it was an amazing stay. Only improvement desired was maybe abit more privacy for the outdoor shower. One side of it was completely opened.
