What a brilliant stay from start to finish. John the owner is such a lovely guy and goes out of his way to help wherever possible. The site is very clean and is surrounded by a beautiful countryside with a lovely river (shallow) in the bottom field for you to paddle in. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here it's perfect

It was a beautiful site, with lovely views for the sunset and sunrise, and it felt like we had it all to ourselves which was amazing. Even though there were other people pitched around, everyone had their own space hidden away on the hill. Jess was helpful getting us set up too. Thank you!

A perfect few days. Very kind and friendly hosts. Wonderful walking, perfect weather, perfect view, the beautifully clean showers and toilets, freezer for freezy blocks, my kind of heaven. Looking forward to the Bala light railway next time. I will be back. Thank you.

Great site, very quiet and perfect for what we wanted. Semi wild camping with good access to the mountains. Llyr was very helpful and the site is clean and has some great pitches. Recommend the pitch just above the the two ponds with the wood line just behind you. 4x4 needed.

Weekend Trip to Woodside Country Park

The campsite was very pretty and secluded, and the lake was lovely too! The bathrooms were also clean and there were a few great walks around. The hosts were also lovely! Would absolutely come again.

Terrain was testing . You need a proper 4x4 to visit here. Fantastic spot and so private. Wild camping experience that's hard to match.

Shire Camping is located in a peaceful 10 acre meadow looking towards Edge Hill. Spacious and with running drinking water, hot showers and flushing toilets. There is a footpath running alongside it taking you 25 minutes to a village shop one way and 20 minutes to a good pub the other way, all across fields. There are some amazing walks to do from the site, and being on the edge of the cotswolds there are plenty of pretty villages and market towns to explore. There are also some well regarded cycling routes in the area.

Guests to Rhos y Gallt describe the campsite as a little gem of a site - small, quite and tranquil with wonderful sunsets. The site can accommodate up to 5 caravans and 10 tents situated on a level 2 acre site within the beautiful rolling hills of Montgomeryshire in Mid Wales. There are hard standing pitches with electric hook-up as well as grass pitches with and without electric hook-up. There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep! The toilet block has a family wet room with shower, toilet, wash hand basin and baby changing unit, a separate toilet, shower and kitchen area with freezer. The site borders a river meadow where visitors can wonder down and take a walk down with the river bank, relax by the water edge, throw a few skimmers, do a spot of fishing or even go wild water swimming (at your own risk!). Well behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2 per unit). We were delighted to receive a nomination for The Camping and Caravanning Club Best Hideaway Site in 2021 and grateful to our wonderful guests for the nomination.
