My 8 year old loves making dens and bases and has heard about wild camping that my wife and I used to do and wanted to do some himself. Since he isn’t quite up to a proper expedition at his age I went looking for a campsite where we could give him a taste of it and found this place. We camped in the woods within a few metres of the river. We cooked over fires and slept under a tarp shelter between trees, boiled water from the river and in his eyes lived in the wilderness for a couple of days. Just what we were after.

The river is lovely and camping was very peaceful. We also saw a new born calf whilst we stayed! Great location and the food from the farm shop was excellent.

Excellnt place to camp, the pitches were well laid out and the toilet and shower blocks were really clean. Really friendly and even helped put up the tent as we were late getting there me and my son. Maxine was lovely, even lending us a rain coat as we’d forgotten to pack one, lovely produce available for cooking, and such a great location with little walks down to broad haven for coffee food and a local shop and also a short walk to little haven with a number of pubs, really enjoyed walking the coastal path from Maxine’s lovely site

We had a wonderful bank holiday stay. The campsite is in a great location, is clean and quiet even when fully booked. The owner was charming and we used the campsite as our base to cycle to the beautiful beaches near by. Great food at nearby Stackpole Inn. Highly recommend a stay - we'll be back.

Gwersyllfa Glyndŵr Campsite is a small, peaceful, family run and adult only site for walkers and cyclists. Located within walking distance of the historical market town of Machynlleth, we're a great base for exploring all that rural Mid West Wales has to offer. We're on the Glyndŵr National Walking Trail and the Wales Coast Path. There are many cycling trails of all levels nearby - from the Lon Las and Dyfi Bike Park to Ystwyth and Elan Trails. A short bus ride from us are the Snowdonia National Park, Cader Idris and beautiful beaches of Cardigan Bay. Our guests love the outdoors but like a little relaxation at the end of a day's activities, so we offer a some home comforts in the communal camping facilities barn which has a kitchenette with fridge, kettle, microwave and washing up area as well as an indoor seating area on the mezzanine level. Hot showers and toilets are available in the wet rooms also situated in the barn. You can unwind under the stars in the communal campfire area next to the camping field. There's an outdoor sink on the camping field for cleaning muddy gear and a place to clean your bike if needed. The nearby town offers independent shops, an art gallery and historical buildings. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, grocery shops and a petrol station where you can top up on supplies. You'll get the best of both worlds at this secluded campsite which overlooks the Dyfi Valley's stunning scenery whilst being within stone's throw of local amenities.

There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep! The camping field is off-grid, with far reaching rural views and has five spacious, gently sloping pitches, which allow a level of privacy. After a busy day adventuring or relaxing, you’ll be able to sit by the campfire and on a clear night be amazed at how many stars you can see and how vast our skies are. There is a stream in the pond at the bottom of the fields (it is not fenced and adults must supervise the children by the water at all times). The area by the stream has started to be planted with new trees and we are committed to planting many more. Please note we are in the countryside and street lighting is not available on the road please bring a torch and enjoy the beautiful uninterrupted night sky. Great Redford is nestled away in 25 acres of Pembrokeshire countryside. The site is off-grid, and has five spacious pitches. Each pitch has its own camp fire, and picnic table and we have 2 Portaloos in the camping field, but you do have full use of the heated washrooms with waterfall showers and automatic taps on Redford Caravan Park. The site is a car free zone, the car park is in the camp field and there are wheel barrows to transport your kit to and from your pitch. There is plenty of space for kids to run free too. Great Redford and Redford Caravan Park are both dog friendly parks, making it the perfect get away for the whole family.
