We loved our couple of days on Janice and Paul's campsite! We received a warm welcome and it's a wonderful, rural site. We were there with our sprinter van and it was just what we needed. The facilities were always clean and just as described. We loved it! Hope to return soon. :)

It was as expected and more. What a great spot! Toilets, open fire, quiet. Looking forward to making it a yearly tradition. We stayed for 1 night as it was the first camping experience for my 7 and 12 yr old sons. They enjoyed the hike and the tinned food, burnt sausages, Basic rural living, no fuss. The site is what i come to love about the peak district. If all you want is a spot to pitch up, a great one.

I took my Grandson for his first ever camping experience to Sweet Knoll. He had a smashing time, and wants to go on holiday again next weekend. Location and views are beautiful. The facilities, whilst basic, are scrupulously clean, and everything you need for a classic camping experience. We didn't hire a firepit this time around, as the weather wasn't amenable, but that's just part of camping in the hills in the UK. Next time, and there will be a next time. We will definitely be back

The camping field was clean and tidy with a swing and benches in the middle for picnicing. The field wasnt too big.u just turn up pitch your tent and no one bothers you at all. So quiet and peaceful with lovely veiws. No noise at night which was great. You can take a dog as long as you keep it on a lead. Theres 2 toilets with washhand basins in .its cold water but u can always boil a kettle and there urinals for the men. Theres washing up sinks there and also a fresh water tap in the field.people were friendly but left you to do your own thing. Theres logs to buy and fire pit if you want one. I loved the peacefulness of this campsite.i would recomend it to anyone and i will come back if i get the opportunity. Janice and Paul the site owner are very helpful and obliging .very nice people. The site is near Buxton ,Matlock and Bakewell if your driving.

Absolutely beautiful place. Lovely hosts, wood, bricks, fire starters, fire pits on sight. Swing, wooden tables and logs as benches. Cows surrounding. Farm and cows nearby. Lovely drive from Sheffield. Clean toilets with all facilities, drinking water on sight, big plot of land . 10/10 we are going back

1 night at White Peak Camping

On arrival the place is a hidden gem, you have to drive past the farm entrance on fun terrain, between aisles of mooing cattle. Then you reach the campsite, a lush area of grass, surrounded by scenic countryside views on all angles. In the centre is a charming handmade swing the sign reads “swing at own risk”. The toilets have character and were always fully stocked and of a great standard yet fit in well with the rustic, rural spirit of the camp site. A USB charging station next to the sinks. Just enough ‘luxury’ but not too much, to take away from the “back-to-basics” experience which I had travelled for. I met both Janice and Paul on separate occasions, they were engaging and enthusiastic about their land and love for the outdoors. A friendly environment, and safe. As a lone female camping I felt at ease. All the other guests were also very social but knew when to take leave. And if you’re into your climbing as well then I recommend you speak to their son on crag knowledge of the local area. Thankyou. I’m sure this will become a spot I shall frequent in the future. So cheap as well!

Beautiful views and walks from the campsite. The site and superclean toilets are checked twice a day. I came on weekdays out of school holidays so it was very peaceful. I went to the bustling Monday market at Bakewell by the hourly bus, the bus stop is nearly a mile away. I will be back. Thankyou for a great break.

For food, there’s a farm shop just two minutes’ walk away from the site where you’ll be able to get your hands on local produce. Pubs aren’t far away either – there is one pub five minutes' walk away, and another 15 minutes' walk away. Festival goers are very welcome, and the Creamfields Festival site is five minutes’ drive away. Please respect the quiet hours (no noise is permitted after 10pm) and environment, as the owners' home is on the grounds (and stick to the field's facilities only).

What a little Derbyshire gem: back to basics Whitehouse Farm Campsite is a simple site in a most scenic setting five minutes’ drive from the pretty village of Tideswell. The site’s central location in the Peak District National Park means it’s a top spot for those who want to ramble or ride bikes – several circular trails leave from Tideswell and the traffic-free Monsal Trail is a five-minute drive away. And there’s plenty more activity if you require it too, as activity centres nearby can sort you out days of horse riding, abseiling, climbing and caving. All this activity isn’t mandatory, of course – this is an equally fine location for days pottering off to local pubs, pigging out on pudding in Bakewell or taking a leisurely stroll around the Chatsworth Estate, 20 minutes away. And if even that’s too much, you’d be welcome to spend some time loafing about on site: there’s heaps of space here, and as facilities have been kept quite minimal (just showers and toilets) there should be a good serving of peace and quiet to go with it all. Guests are welcome to light up a barbecue or campfire for cookouts and keeping warm; Tideswell’s the place for supermarket supplies, and it’s also handily got a fish and chip shop and a couple of pubs for days when your firelighting skills aren't up to much.
