(You will be able to dump it before leaving). We strive to provide a place to enjoy the peace & quiet of nature, so it's not a place to party or have music loud enough for any neighbours to hear. Nestled in the heart of the Tamihi Recreational Area, just 20 minutes from town, our property offers a rare blend of seclusion and adventure. Surrounded on three sides by lush, moss-draped forest and bordered on the fourth by the stunning Chilliwack River, it’s a true nature lover’s paradise. Enjoy a spacious riverside beach, perfect for swimming during the summer and fall. The river is also renowned for its world-class fishing, drawing anglers from all over. For the adventurous, the area features Class I–IV rapids, ideal for whitewater kayaking, with Chilliwack River Rafting just minutes away. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the endless network of trails and logging roads, perfect for ATVs, hiking, and mountain biking. Whether you’re seeking adrenaline or tranquility, this property offers the best of both worlds. ATV's can go directly out of our gate & are idle in - idle out. Your QUIET, well-mannered, leashed pet is welcome as long as you pick up after them. LONG WEEKENDS are a minimum of 3 nights. CHILDREN MUST be accompanied by a parent at all times! Some sites are Adults only (a minimum of 19 yrs) due to sharp drop offs to the river and undercut banks that would be unsafe for children. FIREWOOD is $9. for a large feed bag full. Firewood is available between 8 AM & 8 PM. BEEF & EGGS: We have grass-fed Black Angus beef for sale (below supermarket prices) & occasionally have eggs from our pastured chickens. Our free-range kind & gentle horses also wander the property. Any interactions with them are at your own risk! If you prefer, we have 6 bare-bones fishermen's cabins. Tamihi Meadows Group Power Site 1

Please check with me first to see if the site is actually available as many book through my Tamihi Meadows website and I can't connect my calendar with Hipcamps. ***PLEASE ENSURE YOU READ THE WHOLE AD BELOW.  MOST INFORMATION INCLUDING THE SITE DESCRIPTION IS THERE AS WELL. Hipcamp doesn't differentiate between children & adults. THIS IS A GROUP POWER SITE designed to accomodate 4 units (with power hookup). It can take a 5th unit with power hookup included for an extra $45. This site allows up to 12 adults plus your children at no extra charge & an extra 3 if taking a 5th unit. Please don't add your (own) minor children to your booking!   ABOUT US:  Our private, 33+ acre, picturesque, tranquil farm property is situated in the Tamihi Recreational Area just south of Chilliwack, British Columbia. Three sides of the property are heavily forested with the Chilliwack River bordering the fourth side. It's only 20 minutes from Sardis. The property has a large beach suitable for swimming in summer and fall, and it is also a world-class fishing spot. It has unlimited mountain trails and logging roads for ATVs, mountain bikers/hikers and horses and with Class I - IV rapids, is also a fantastic area for whitewater kayaking & rafting. The national kayaking team trains just up from us and Chilliwack River Rafting is very close by. We occasionally host weddings in the meadow and our 20 x 60' covered picnic area.  We have a small playground. There is a private gun range quite a ways away but within earshot. 3 people out of a few thousand have complained about it. All sites have a picnic table and fire pit. THIS IS FOR SELF-CONTAINED UNITS ONLY! Tenters with their own porta potty are ok. The washrooms were closed due to at least 60% of the tenters afraid to go to them at night & disgustingly doing their business all around their site instead!   *LONG WEEKENDS are a minimum 3-night booking, & must include Friday & Sat. nights. HORSES:  Our gentle and calm horses have free range on the property.  Parents need to closely supervise their children at all times.  ANY INTERACTION WITH THE HORSES IS AT YOUR OWN RISK & CHILDREN MUST BE WITH AN ADULT when around them!  If it is a really busy weekend, we stop them from going down to the campground.  As people have spoiled them, if you leave your RV door open, they may stick their head in looking for treats!   They welcome neck scratches, but otherwise, people are not to be mauling or slapping them, as although they would never intentionally hurt someone being kind to them, they could accidentally knock someone over, step on your foot or bite your fingers if you are giving them a carrot etc.  For that reason, we ask that you use a container if you wish to give them a treat.  APPLES NEED TO BE CUT TO AVOID THEM CHOKING & NO SUGAR PLEASE!   Sorry, we do not offer riding. WHO THIS IS SUITABLE FOR: This is for quiet, nature lovers only that will leave our pristine wilderness exactly as they found it!   We feel that your neighbours shouldn't have to listen to your music as it may not be to their taste, nor should you have to listen to theirs.  We want our place to be all about respect for others!   If you are partiers or heavy drinkers etc., then this is not a suitable place for you.  CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES!   VISITORS: We do not allow visitors in on busier weekends as people have complained in the past that here was too many people around & it would get too noisy.   If it's not busy in the campground, we may allow a couple of visitors.  They would have to fill out a waiver and buy a day pass ($10).  You need to let us know in advance however,   UNAUTHORIZED VISITORS ARE $25. EACH & ASKED TO LEAVE! You are welcome to meet with people on the beach.  PETS: QUIET, well-mannered pets are welcome as long as you pick up after them & they are leashed at all times & not left outside unattended,. OCCUPANCY: We allow up to 3 adults per single site plus up to 4 children, extras are $10.  ATV'S: LICENSED VEHICLES ONLY.  To be respectful of others RIDING AROUND THE CAMPGROUND IS NOT PERMITTED.   IDLE IN & IDLE OUT ONLY AND NO REVVING OF ENGINES!   PHONE SERVICE:  Fido/Rodgers works here.  We have just installed a cell phone signal booster in the covered picnic shelter, so if you have Telus or Bell etc., you can try it there.  PARROT SHOW: I often do a show in the campground on busier weekends with my Amazon parrot that does quite a performance to entertain the kids (& adults). DISRUPTIVE GUESTS:  People causing too much noise or disturbances or otherwise not following the guidelines will be warned first, but in severe instances, you could be asked to leave immediately (without refund). GATE HOURS: 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM.   THE SITE:  This is a huge group site that easily accommodates 4 or 5 large RVs, a short walk to the river &/or playground. It has 4 - 15 Amp plugs & can accommodate 1 more with power ($45. extra charge).

It is a beautiful campside. Just out of Vancouver. It was a great stop, next to the Chiliwack River. It was nice that we could buy firewoods and fresh meat to eat. We could really recommend! A part of the final road is unpaved, but good to drive with a RV even when it drizzles.

We just stayed for one night but it was great and I have no complaints. There is a wire fencing up now between the sites and the river for safety reasons as there is a steep drop down to the riverbank and it looks like it could be unsteady. This didnt bother us, but it wasnt shown in the photos. The campground was quiet except for some motorbikes/atvs heard in the distance during the day. The road has quite a lot of potholes, but we were able to make it with our small fibreglass trailer while driving slowly. There are no grates ontop of the firepits for cooking. Overall, we had a lovely, relaxing time watching the eagles fly overhead and listening to the sounds of the river.

Camp spot location right on the river was awesome. We couldn’t be any closer to the water. The site was quite overgrown though. Would suggest someone go through with a weed eater to trim down a lot of the grass. We had to pull a lot of weeds so we had a clear spot for our pop up awning. When we first pulled in on the Friday to camp, we were not greeted at the gate, and found out the sites are not labeled. We had no idea where our site was. We were lucky to run into the host further down the road, who let us know where our spot was. Overall, very nice campsite, and beautiful location. This review is left with hopes the site gets trimmed up ready for the next use. Thank you.

Site L4 had a beautiful view of the river and setting sun. I didn't know that fly fishing was popular here and enjoyed watching the fishermen gracefully casting for fish. A pair of Canada geese were nesting nearby and one morning I saw them out with their 7 goslings! The same morning I watched a doe and her two yearlings walk to the water for a drink. Mergansers also like the river and were fun to watch so bring binoculars! I walked a section of the Trans Canada Trail to get to the Tamihi Rapids Recreation Site and was mesmerized by the white water kayakers in training with their coaches. Tamihi Meadows is unique with a lot of character.

A Hidden Gem by the Chilliwack Rive

We were passing through on our way to Washington and decided to spend the night at Tamihi Meadows—and we're so glad we did! This campsite is a true hidden gem. Nestled right next to the Chilliwack River, it offered a peaceful and scenic place to unwind. The setting is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature and the calming sound of the river. A huge thank you to our host, Debbie, who was incredibly accommodating. She responded quickly to my messages, accepted our last-minute reservation, and even helped us switch campsites without any hassle. Her kindness and responsiveness made our short stay even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be coming back the next time we’re in the area. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet and charming spot to camp!

I loved the campsite—the environment was beautiful and peaceful. The host was friendly and welcoming. The private campground offered much more privacy than a provincial campground. Overall, it was a great experience. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy camping. Just be sure to bring your own toilet and water, as these amenities are not provided.

Our stay wad great! Wish it could have been longer, but our time didn't allow for it. Beautiful spot. Great service. If we ever go back to BC, we would want to stay again. Deborah and team was super accommodating, when our arrival time changed. Thanks for a great place to call home for a couple days.

I loved camping on this camp site. The host was responsive and very friendly. Our campsite had an amazing view of the river and the camp grounds was very clean. We got to see one of the horses and got up close, it was an amazing experience. Would totally come back again!

This place felt very private and we camped right on the river which was beautiful! I will say the camp host guy at the gate was a bit unwelcoming. Instead of opening with “how are you doing”, it was “who are you”, “what are you doing here”, and “I don’t see a reservation for you.” Just felt a bit unwarranted considering our stay was confirmed hours before arrival and we are literally paying money to stay there, but being treated like we’re trespassing? Other than that, our stay was nice. The river is fun for a nice cold plunge and the little beach area is amazing.

PERFECT! We loved everything about this place! The host and caretaker go above and beyond! The host even did a couple private showings of her adorable parrot for our little one with hearing aids. Stunning views! Way better than feeling crammed into a government campground!!! Highly recommend 👌

This is a gem of a location within 2 hours of Vancouver! If you like nature, quiet and privacy while camping this is a spectacular find. With the river and Chilliwack Valley hiking trails on your doorstep, this makes for a great getaway. You need to have your own toilet facilities, so geared to RVs. The potholes on the road to get in make the last bit slow going - but it was worth it!! Deborah was very responsive and Dave was very helpful. We will be back!

This campsite is a gem! Nestled right by the Chilliwack River, it offers breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. We loved spending our days hiking nearby trails and evenings around the campfire. The facilities were spotless, and the campsite was well-organized. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to reconnect with nature. 🤍🏕️🥾🌲

Beautiful and peaceful spot along the river. Good place to bring our pup. We happened to book early season so was very private with only a few other campers. Nice spot to watch the sunset and star gaze!

Beautiful place to camp! So peaceful by the by the river, watching the eagles, herons and the fisherman going about their day. Our spot was as private, clean, spacious along the quiet area of the campground. W less people around than expected so it made it even more intimate. Dave met us at the gate and was super helpful and was happy to give an overview of the property.
