Paige’s rental was perfect for my three person family. The outdoor space was serene and the two cottages were beautiful and cozy. We appreciated all of the artful touches. I stayed here with my girlfriend and we had a wonderful few days. The tent was amazing – spacious, cosy, and well set up. The whole place was peaceful and perfect for unwinding. Nicole was lovely, quick to reply, and very helpful.

2 nights at Deep Creek Cabin And Tents

This cabin was exactly what we needed. Quiet, simple, and surrounded by nature. Tucked away in the woods, it offered peace without pretension. Two fold-out chairs on the porch were perfect for sipping coffee and watching the trees sway. Inside, the space was cozy and warm with a wood stove that added charm and comfort. Our cat, leashed and curious, settled in easily and enjoyed the quiet as much as we did. Though we had cell service, we rarely touched our phones, only for music and photos. The forest was more than enough. We spent our days walking short trails, watching light filter through the trees, and resting without pressure. At night, we built fires in the large fire pit and talked under the stars. The view through the trees was beautiful, especially at sunrise and sunset. Everything about this stay reminded us to slow down. It wasn’t luxury, it was something better. Real, grounding, and quietly unforgettable. We left feeling lighter, more present, and deeply grateful and will be regulars here for sure.

Weekend Trip to Tiny Secrets Farm & Retreat

We camped in the bus at Tiny Secrets and loved it so much. It was cozy, comfortable, and had everything we needed to cook there. The views were really pretty from the bus door and the property was gorgeous to just walk around with our dog. Bit of a learning curve using compost toilets for the first time but there were helpful instructions in the washroom. Staff were friendly and helpful and there was useful info in the bus about the property too. We loved staying here, thank you. 💛

I really enjoyed this little bus, perfect for solo traveller, very cozy and simple and lovely, I used the bbq and the stove inside was great for tea and coffee and simple things. Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort

A very remote, tranquil log cabin fishing camp hand-built in the 1960's. Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort is only accessible by ATV (snowmobile in winter) or by foot (a 9-minute walk from the parking lot). There is no public access to the lake so it is wonderfully private & peaceful. We offer 5 cabins in total with some areas suitable for tents. There is a day-lodge with a kitchen and eating area for guest's use, kayaks, row boats, and a paddle board free for use as well as a wood-fired sauna! The lake is excellent for swimming. It is feet-friendly, shallow, and has no sudden drop-offs. And if you like to hike, fish or BOTH then this is the place for you. There are many nearby lakes that are a short drive/ride and hike away! Akehurst Lake does not have cell service or wifi. Lights are made possible by a gas generator in the evening. There is only cold running water in the day-lodge sink which is seasonal and depends on if the creek is running. Guests should be comfortable being in the woods and aware that if no one else is there, they will need to light the stove and fridge and operate the generator if needed. **Packing List** - Bedding (sheets & blankets or sleeping bag. Pillow covers) - Extra pillows (we provide 2 per cabin. Ask if more are available before arrival) - Towel/face cloth - Dish cloth & Dish towels - Paper towel/napkins - Toilet rolls - Lighter for fires (if applicable). 3 bed Cabin built on a bluff among the maples. Cabin includes 3 double beds. One is a private room and two up in the loft. Boat access only! Sonora island does not have a ferry. There are water taxi companies that can boat you from Campbell River to Owen bay. Once on the island it is a 2-3km walk down the main road (which is usually muddy if there was recent rain) to the cabin. No service and no wifi. Make sure you arrange your pick up before being dropped off. Guests need to be fit to hike up to the cabin. This is a unique fully remote and off grid escape that is not for everyone! Please reach out if you have any questions! Pack in your own bedding/ sleeping bags. 5 minute walk to our private gravel beach over looking the ‘Hole in the Wall’ rapids. Welcome to Goonieland. We are an off-grid Permaculture farm perched on the edge of the Rocky Mountains. We are conveniently located between Yoho and Glacier National Parks, 20 minutes from Golden BC. The sauna campground is in a meadow above our farm with mountain views and creeks nearby. The purpose of Goonieland is to learn, practice and teach permaculture, regenerative agriculture, and natural law, while moving towards sovereignty, intentional community, and ecosystem restoration. We open our land to our fellow freedom fighters and folks walking the road toward a regenerative future and self-responsibility. We have two tenting sites, a glampervan, a glamping bell tents (on Airbnb), with a shared wood-fired sauna! Back Forty Vineyards

Come camp on a 40-acre parcel backing onto crown land mountains and wake up in front of 10 acres of vineyard and a view of Okanagan Lake! There is a small cabin and two camp sites to choose from. Site 1 is best suited for tents and small campervans, less than 18' or so (though people with small trailers like tear drop campers have been fine). Site 2 has a much larger flat area that can hold RVs up to 30'. Outhouse on the property, which is just a pit toilet. It is a working farm so will likely have various equipment around at times as well as workers at certain times of the year. You’ll likely meet our very friendly and very energetic Bernedoodle, Bernie. If you prefer to keep him out of your campsite just let us know and we can keep him closer. Otherwise, he thinks he has the run of the place! Please check to see if campfires are allowed (live in a high-risk fire zone) and firewood is available with an extra charge. If you need anything to better enjoy your stay, just let us know! Our property is located in Peachland, BC. Positioned midway between Kelowna and Pentiction, it is the perfect location to draw from both population centres and is well-positioned to act as a hub for popular wine and other agri-tourism activities. Peachland is within easy reach of over 200 estate wineries and microbreweries.

Valhalla Pines Campground

This is a quiet forested residential area in Sinixt territory. Recommended activities include floating down the river, canoeing the lake, hiking or climbing in Valhalla Park, soaking in Halfway Hot Springs or indulging in Nelson. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers. This valley has many outdoor activities and events and a very interesting history and culture including Sinixt, Doukhobor, Cannabis and Conscientious Objector. Nelson, Castlegar and Slocan Lake are all a half hour drive away. There are many other special places nearby such as the Goddess Pools and the Emerald Pools. Supplies and services are available nearby including firewood, toiletries, dog day care, massage, bike and canoe rentals, life jackets, rubber dingys and paddles etc. Let us know if you would like a referral to any of these services. There are many guides available for activities in the area including (water sports, climbing, skiing, hiking, artist tours, events, geology, mining, mushrooms, cannabis, garden tours and native history). There is a particularly valued native storyteller here that can also provide a walking tour to a nearby village site with a full scale replica of an aboriginal kekuli (earth house). Please call ahead for recommendations on booking guides or storytellers. You don't need one to get here, but its good to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for some of the logging roads that are worth visiting. Roof and/or bike racks can also come in handy. The Vallican Whole community center also has events nearby.

The Gertie Bus is located a 5 min walk to a beautiful white sand beach (at low tide). There are walking trails all around and lots of beach access. Tucked into the front of our property in the quiet of Gabriola island you’ll find the converted Gertie bus with all the amenities you need. The bus has a gas stovetop/oven, bar fridge and sink with grey water system. Equipped kitchen and sofa area to hang out. The standard queen bed is great for sleeping in and relaxing with that second cup of coffee. Mountain biking, hiking, swimming and whale watching are just steps away. There is beach access across the street through a private park with picnic tables, a very old eagles nest and a private access to a rocky beach perfect for sunsets. The home itself has a pottery studio on the main floor with a full time studio Practice. Give Paige a ring if you’d like a tour, she’s usually working away. Our family lives on the top floor. Outside the bus is are lush veggie gardens, fruit trees and a nice private outdoor dining area. A BBQ and solar lights also help with evening hangouts. Family friendly! Also we love animals but we ask that you clean up after your pet and keep any animals that aren’t so great with kids and other animals on leash. We have a dachshund on the property that is friendly and old ( barks at strangers but is all bark I assure you, he just wants to be friends)

In a cedar grove, nestled among the ferns, a lotus belle tent awaits you. A unique bed and breakfast in an off-grid tent. Inside the belle tent there is a comfortable double bed with clean sheets, plump pillows, and a warm Pendelton blanket. A 'west coast homestead basket' with granola, fruit ,and farm eggs is provided for a nutritious breakfast. A Berkey water filter provides delicious water from our mountain well. Inside the tent, a comfortable chair looks out over the mossy forest toward the creek. There is room to stretch, and a couple of yoga mats to use. A stretch is especially nice after exploring the nearby trails through Mount Maxwell forest. The trails take through a varied and fascinating forest. Along the way are mossy knolls with vistas of the valley, ocean, and Vancouver Island. One trail leads all the way to Burgyone Bay. The belle is an off-grid seasonal tent with electric candles for lighting and a composting toilet. At night there are solar string lights--should you want them--which illuminate the path to the tent. On clear nights, turn the lights off to star-gaze through the branches.
