My friend and I had a great experience at Steve's campground. It was peaceful and well designed. We were greeted by Nelson, who welcomed us and provided local information that was very helpful. I highly recommend this campground.

It was my first time camping here. Me and my friend decided to do a last minute camping trip for memorial weekend. Due to the holiday it was obviously difficult to find a place last minute. I figured I would try somewhere new and booked here. It was beautiful! The property was gorgeous, right off of the creek, the area was well maintained, and they generously provided the first bucket of firewood free of charge. I would definitely recommend this campground to anyone looking to visit the area!

River Trail Hollow Camp Ground was very nice. Camping spots are setup great, plenty of room between camping spots. We were the only campers there and even though our first night had a rain storm we enjoyed the peace and quiet of nature. Plenty of fish in the Greenbrier River. The kids and my husband caught lots of small mouth bass, rock bass and a carp. We camped in spot 1, it was right on the creek and a hop, skip and jump from the Greenbrier River. Greenbrier Trail was at the entrance to the campground if you want to go for a walk or bike ride. We will definitely be back for more camping.

Peaceful riverside retreat

The campground was larger than I expected and it was very private, quiet, and peaceful. I happened to be the only person there when I camped, so I really enjoyed the tranquility. It is easy to find with the host's directions, but here is no cell service so make sure you download all the info you need before you go. The campsites and road were well-maintained and the port-o-potties were very clean!

Wonderful camping. Bring your bikes and jump right on the greenbrier river trail. The sites along the creek have a wonderful vibe. Shower is great and wood is reasonable priced. Would totally stay again.

Unfortunately, we couldn't get to the campsite from the greenway river trail. The entrance from off the trail was not able to be accessed to my riding partner who has a disability. The grade was too steep for him to travel down and traverse back up to rejoin the trail. We ended up not staying and didn't go to the camp site.

Unexpected calming getaway! Near the edge of the New River Gorge region, I am not sure what I expected for our first time there but this “campground” feels less like a campground and more like you are boondocking.. Stayed at spot #11 due to electric hookup.. wedged privately between foot hills flanking you on 3 sides with woods and a lovely sounding creek at one of the foothills side and the Greenbrier River just opposite the entrance. Area is a low light area , super quiet and amazing star shows after midnight. Early in the season do we only had 2 other guests at the campground and had it all yo our selves on Easter. Great bike trail runs between the river and the campground and kayak access across street. An amazing weekend as the area is super user friendly with trail accesses all over the area. Definitely 5 stars and we will return. Bonus tip: grab a plastic Adirondack chair from the common pavilion and drop in creek while the water flows around you. Chill out…..✅

Enjoying the peace and quiet.

This is the third time that we camped on Steve's land and it is by far our favorite camping spot. We love the peace and quiet. Steve and his friends do a fabulous job of making sure everything is good and that all of their guests are looked after. They expected a large group the same weekend we were there and made it a point to come around and ask if there were any problems (the group was very well behaved so there were no issues) but it was clear that Steve cared about all of his guests. We'll be back again next year.

Beautiful piece of property right next to the Greenbrier River and Trail. Maple farm. Plenty of wood, good clean amenities. Would recommend! Only critique would be to have a map available on Hipcamp when booking so campers can better choose which site they want to reserve.

Nelson and Steve were extremely helpful and accommodating for our group. I would highly recommend the campground: great pavilion area with sink & running water, hot showers, clean toilet facilities (primitive), firewood for sale at a reasonable cost on site, and great access to the Greenbrier River Trail in a beautiful setting.

The campsite was beautiful and secluded. The sky was absolutely gorgeous. We fell asleep to the amazing sound of the river and nature all around us. Our experience was amazing. The outdoor shower had hot water and the first bundle of firewood was free. We will be returning in the future!

Steve’s land is located on the greenbrier trail, which is convenient for walking and for cycling! I’d imagine it’s a busy campground during the summer months. We were there the last weeekend in October during the middle of the week and had the place to ourselves. We were at site #25, which was off the beaten path of comers and goers (if there were any but close to the trail). The amenities were appreciated, wood, showers, water faucets, otherwise primitive, which we like! We enjoyed a very peaceful visit and streams of Canada geese flying overhead every morning! Thanks Steve for sharing your land!

Beautiful, serene site!

This campground is located in a beautiful region of Monongahela. The campsites sit between two foothills along a stream feeding a larger river just down the road, offering a serene setting. Campsite #11 is close to the shower house and bathrooms, making it easy to navigate at night. If there's not a full moon the site is very dark and isn't illuminated. We loved the night skies and a friend stayed up late enough to catch an Aurora ❤️ Steve made everything easy to navigate without a camp host on site and we loved our long weekend exploring the area. About 20 minutes from Cranberry Bogs and the waterfalls, 2 hours from Seneca Rocks and an hour + to Cass Mountain Railroad.

I love that it's wooded and secluded but yet close enough to a food source. I wish the shower head was lower for showers, but love that it's out doors. The power and water source is very handy for what we needed. Thanks so much, we love camping there.

A hidden gem

We loved the set up of the camp. The camp is located just off the trail, you have to drive under a low bridge to get there. Very cool. It’s a spacious area with lots of beautiful trees. A plus was the showers and the sink had hot water, a super nice surprise. We would come back again.

Steve’s camp, River Trail Hollow, sits on a beautiful property next to the Greenbriar River and is convenient to Greenbriar River Trail. It’s very secluded and secure behind a locked gate. Each campsite is spacious and some have power and water. We stayed at #10 and had power and water. This site is in close proximity to the bath house and fire wood storage area. There’s a very nice covered picnic area for the campers use to gather. The showers are very nice and have hot water. We’re already planning to go back in the Spring. Camping at River Trail Hollow and biking on the Greenbriar River Trail is a very enjoyable experience.

This place is a gem. Right off the fantastic Greenbrier River Rail Trail, a quick walk to Jack Horners corner that has just about all supplies you might need and an easy drive to the Cranberry Wilderness, it is a perfect location. Our site was big and comfortable, right next to the river. And the showers were the BEST.
