(Notice - Our driveway was damaged by heavy rains from hurricane Helene. We have been working to make repairs. For those return campers and all new guests to Honah Lee Farms, we are no longer accepting trailers or RVs longer than 12 ft. due to the narrowing of our driveway from the recent flood-waters. We apologize for any inconvenience and will post updates here if the circumstances change. - Brian) Our camp is the shared vision of Brian and Lee and son Michael. We fell in love with this beautiful property where we plan to build our eco-friendly, off-grid homestead and farm. Lee's favorite song and the inspiration behind our name is "Puff the Magic Dragon" by Peter, Paul and Mary. A land of whimsical imagination, beauty and maybe a dragon or three is our shared vision for the farm. The camping options are flexible, ranging from prepared campsites along both Little and Deep creeks with composting outhouses nearby, to "Camper's Choice" options where you may hike in or drive in and create your own camping experience. Please note that since the "Camper's Choice" options allow freedom to select hike-in or drive-in options, the exact distance to nearest outhouse may vary. There are 144 acres to explore so campers can set up a secluded getaway or cluster together in a group. We are flexible and can work with you to create a camping experience that suits your needs. Learn more about this land: Honah Lee Farms has over 140 acres of woods with open fields distributed throughout. We are bordered to the south by the Flat River, to the west by Deep Creek, and to the north by Little Creek. Most of our campsites are nestled in the trees along one of these bodies of water and all campers have access to the 10 foot waterfall area where Deep Creek runs into the Flat River.

Campsite approximately 50 yards down a farm road and short trail from the field where you may park your vehicle; includes one large tent pad, several other spots for additional tents. a picnic table and a firepit 20 feet from Deep Creek nestled among mature hardwoods. From here you can hear the waterfall and follow Deep Creek Trail down to the waterfall. The outhouse is located in the lower field approximately 3 minutes walk from the campsite.

Upper Deep Creek

Campsite is right in the woods at the edge of the field where Little Creek Runs into Deep Creek and you may pull your vehicle right up to the camping area or set up an RV along side; includes two large tent pads, a picnic table and a firepit and is 20 feet from Deep Creek. There is an outhouse located approximately 50 yards from the campsite. From here there is about a 10 minute walk along Deep Creek to the waterfall and the Flat River.

For those who don't mind a 5 minute hike from your car, there is a wonderful spot along a lower section of Little Creek that includes a large rock outcropping and several wading pools nestled among large and mature beech trees. For those with RVs or preferring to camp closer to your car, there are spaces where you park your car/RV including a fire ring. The outhouse is located near where you park your car/RV, about 5 minute walk down to the creek.

The main campsite is situated on the north end of the property with with space for 2-3 tents situated about 100 feet from Little Creek. The camping area may be accessed directly by trucks or SUVs with higher clearance. Vehicles with lower clearance my park in the field, a short 2 minute walk away.

We loved this campsite! Felt very private and kids enjoyed the easy access to the river for swimming and fishing. We hope to come back again!

Such a lovely site! It was quiet, private, spacious, and pretty. The hosts were super easy to communicate with (and very helpfully provide advice before we booked on which site might be the best fit for our family) and they made check-in easy. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The hosts were very helpful and communicated great. The site is beautiful and our 4 kids (7-13) all loved it. The river is fun, but bring water shoes because the bottom is rocky. Definitely would go again!

I have camped at Hannah Lee’s property several times and always have a great time. The camp is private and quiet. It’s my go to place to camp when I want to get out in nature, but close to home. Brian and Mike are great hosts.

The place looked great as always. Nicely trimmed around the camp spots and plenty of room to relax. Great privacy for my dog off leash. He doesn’t go far but he loves the open fields and the creek.

By far my favorite stop on my road trip! I absolutely want to visit again. Due to my own misunderstanding while booking, Mike was nice enough to offer a quieter creekside spot for my pup and I since I have booked a spot along the trail. I did take the opportunity to bathe in the creek and it was magical! Possibly because it had been 5 days since my last shower, but the views couldn’t be better!

Exceptionally clean and well-maintained campsite (including the port-a-potty). Beautiful, peaceful, private setting right on the water with a little waterfall nearby. Easy fishing access. Quite magical. Wish we had been able to stay more than one night. Tip: make sure to pack up your food because raccoons may come looking for a treat in the night! We accidentally donated some homemade sourdough bread to their cause. Hopefully they enjoyed it. :)

I really enjoyed my time at the lower creek spot! Was peaceful and relaxing I had fun fishing the creek even tho I got several bites I didn’t pull any thing in And I will definitely be coming back.

3rd time staying on this property and this is the second site I've stayed at. Great site tucked away on the property which gives a nice secluded feeling. I heard more car noise at this site compared to the other but it was very minimal and not very disruptive. It's not something that should deter you but if you want that feeling of middle of nowhere then consider upper deep Creek or lower deep Creek instead. Gists are always great and the land always has something special to offer. Thanks again!

Lovely campsite! Right by the creek, nice and spacious and also very private. Mike was a wonderful host. He greeted us when we came and showed us the very cute donkeys. We had a great time here and really enjoyed the getaway! Will definitely recommend

Another great stay at Honah Lee Farms! This time we also went to visit the donkeys on the property and they were so sweet. We chatted with Mike and met his dog Daisy as well, and everyone was lovely. Will definitely be back again!

Honah Lee Farms is the perfect camping spot for dogs or people who want privacy. We took are three dogs and were pleased that they could be off leash the whole time and didn’t run into any other campers. We stayed at Camper’s Choice #2 which was very private and shaded with access to a scenic creek. The host was great at communicating and very friendly. We look forward to going again!

The site was beautiful!! Very private, and pretty easy to access. The instructions were easy to follow to get in and the host was very friendly. Lots of space for my kid and the creek was stunning. I will definitely be coming back!

We had an amazing stay at Honah Lee Farms - Brian/Mike were very attentive and helpful and made our stay so easy and enjoyable. It was just about 2WD accessible! The driveway/trails in are pretty rocky but we made it in fine. The campsite at Upper Creek was perfect for a family; the creek is ideal for playing and exploring in and seemed super clean. Would absolutely recommend and will probably be back!

My group went tent camping at the Lower Creek campsite, there was a beautiful creek with a view of cow pasture across the water. At night beavers came out into the water which was so neat to see! Overall, we would definitely camp here again.

Third time’s a charm, but so were the first and second times!! This property is an absolute gem - 30 mins from Durham with creeks/rivers, fields, and amazing hosts. We brought our 1 year old Lab camping this time (her first camping trip), and the wide open field was a great resource to have available for energy burn. As always, Mike and Brian were so gracious, and the surrounds were amazing. Just what we needed this weekend - thanks again!!
