Our 3rd time here and we LOVE Arnott’s! We have stayed here in a camper van all 3 times and it’s just such a relaxing stop after what really feels like roughing it at the previous two spots (Ho’okena and Volcano). Walking distance to a fun snorkeling spot and warm showers and a great lanai kitchen. I was in big trouble with our 9 year old for not booking on a Friday this time because of game night but there is always next year!

A great place to camp in the city, They’ve got nice, clean facilities. After being out in the country for several days it was an excellent place to catch up. I felt 100% safe, the area was pretty quiet given that it’s in a residential area. Close to restaurants, shopping, a beach park, etc

If Doug the owner ever came to Montana, he would have a place to land! The staff & Lauren were absolutely gracious as it comes. The reviews says 2 stars for this hostel, camping, and hotel rooms. This is easily 4 stars in our books.

I really enjoyed my stay here it was very outdoorsy place was clean and convenient to everything. Cause what’s the point of working and staying in hotel enjoy the out door vibe with amenities 🤙🏾. They also have a lodge to stay indoors.

Great stay! It was in a great location and it was clean, quite and safe! Our kids (age 5&7) also enjoyed doing cartwheels in the grass and appreciated the short walk to a beautiful beach.

Clean and convenient place to camp in Hilo. I parked right next to the lawn where I pitched my tent. The covered outdoor kitchen allowed me to cook and eat while dodging the rain. Wifi was helpful. Security was onsite. No time restrictions on coming and going. Normally I camp in the woods but this worked well for my travel plans.

Great camping spot next to Hilo bay. Nice quiet place with close beach access. Refrigerator, microwaves, toaster, oven, stove, top, and all the amenities for cooking and cleaning plus it has room for entertainment a nice lanai area for eating and privacy when using restroom or showers..

Clean, quiet, friendly and professional place. Great place to camp at Big Island's east coast. Friendly staff and owner. Hot showers, fast WiFi, lots of shelter from Hilo's frequent rain. Recommended.

Amenities were good. Everything basic and a lounge area. Staff was friendly and responsive. We camped in our car with no issues. Just had to cover my face with a shirt because of the light.

Loved it. Minutes from a wonderful beach with kid friendly waters. Camping on lush grass. Made use of outdoor Washer and Dryer, Water heater for coffee in the morning. TY!

We have tented there in October. There were no many other campers, the facilities were clean. The shower is basic, but clean and the water is hot. WiFi was ok and the staff was friendly. Well kept grass to tent. Choose a place that is slightly sloping because this is the rainy side of the island. It is a suburban place, but noise was not an issue. If travelling by car, ask for the rear parking lots, because they are closer to the tents. The only thing I didn't like was that the used water from the sink and showers flowed directly on the ground, which is not too environment-friendly.

Great place near the airport. Not necessarily quiet, but close to town, friendly owner. Camping on lush grass. Pretty good.

Great location and staff was very helpful. One thing however, they outline in their agreememt they will look inside your tent (when you are not present) and explain this is for your safety and theirs. So be prepared to come back to an open tent after hanging out in Hilo. We did. And if it had rained everything inside would have gotten soaked. Not that big of a deal but just something to be mindful of at this site.

It rained a ton while I was there and I still had a fantastic time. The staff was very friendly. They have EVERYTHING! Hot showers, coffee in the morning, covered social areas, a tv room, boardgames, microwave, mini-fridge, laundry machines and you can charge your phones. The owner turned me in to Tim-Tams. I’m addicted now. If you’re camping in Hilo, stay at Arnott’s.

We camped all over the Big Island on our honeymoon and this was by far our favorite spot! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. The showers are hot and there’s coffee in the morning!
