The Sunshine cabin was just as described and perfect for 3 people. The shared bathroom and kitchen was clean and Nathan was a great host. Highly recommend!

Sunset Cabin

My mom and I had an amazing stay at Baby Banana Slug. We were in the Sunset Cabin. It’s rustic but had all we needed for our short stay—a warm shower a very short walk away, a place to store and prepare food, comfortable bed, a space heater. We loved it!

Banana Slug Site - Awesome Stay!

This was my first official Hipcamp trip and I could have asked for a better experience. Checking in and accessing the site was incredibly easy, Nathan was super responsive if I had any questions before getting there. The site itself was stunning and incredibly cozy. We were centrally located to access iconic Mendocino coast hikes within a 15-30 minute drive. Nathan came over to the site and briefly introduced himself, he was incredibly friendly! Could not recommend this location more!

Cozy Spot in a Cool Location

Cabin was very quaint and the location amongst many very tall trees was great. I also saw several banana slugs, which aren’t something you can see anywhere else!

magical cozy cabin

I loved staying in mushroom cabin! It was so cozy and the entire property is gorgeous, filled with redwoods and banana slugs. Nathan was a wonderful host too, he showed us around & answered all questions super quickly.

Baby banana slug farm is very very cool, in a gorgeous forest setting. My sister and I stayed a night in the sunshine cabin and it was perfectly cozy, cute, and comfortable. We really enjoyed the kitchen and bath house. We're very appreciative of them allowing pets! I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Site 2 - Baby Banana Slug Farm

The host was incredibly welcoming and hospitable. He greeted us with a tour of the property and shared great recommendations for things to do around Albion. We had a relaxing weekend—the cabin was clean, cozy, and comfortably heated. Just steps away were a shared kitchen and bathroom, both well-maintained. I’d definitely recommend the cabins and campgrounds for families, and it’s a bonus that they’re pet-friendly!

Great small cabin for short trips

Beautiful property with a decently well equipped and very cute cabin. Had towels and bed linens. Bed was great, small kitchenette was great (had cookware but no trashcan) and the bathtub and tub a few paces away was great. Not a lot to do on the property, but parks and beaches are 10 minute drive away. Minimal cell phone service and spotty WiFi. Owners live on the land and were around a bit, but very respectful of space and barely noticed they were ever there.

Solid spot. Great Experience.

Cozy little Cabin with all the basics (Mushroom). Great place for sleeping as it is shaded and private and pretty quiet. The mess hall, shower, toilet were all clean and functioning well. Couple mini fridges and a small gas stove in there with the some and pans for guest use. We briefly met the host and he was a super nice guy. We will be back next time we pass through!

I loved staying in the Mushroom Cabin! It’s cozy, and so beautifully built. Nate was cool and made me feel welcome. My dog enjoyed exploring the redwoods and going on hikes in the surrounding area. I’d planned to work remotely while there but wifi didn’t really work- was a great excuse to blow off work and unwind, but maybe not the best if you’ve got a strict work schedule/are doing the roaming digital work thing. Can’t recommend this beautiful cabin enough!

Great spot!

We enjoyed our stay here this past weekend. Nathan does a great job at communicating and is very flexible to meet your needs. He’s an excellent host. The cabin is cozy with enough space for a couple to sleep and have room for your belongings. There’s a heater that you can set on different levels to keep the room at the temperature you’d like, especially when it gets cold. The communal area areas are nice as well.

Sunset Cabin

This was a lovely stay! The host was so accommodating! The property was very beautiful and I absolutely loved the kitchen and bath house. I would recommend this as a great place to stay near Mendocino and Fort Bragg.

All the good things the other reviewers wrote are true. Baby Banana Slug Farm is an excellent value and base camp location if you are visiting the Mendocino area. The hosts are sweet and kind people, and it felt so good to be among the tall trees on the property. I love the mushroom cabin. It is the most private of the 3 lodging options, which is located the furthest away from the other cabins, kitchen, and wash room. That being said, it’s not a super long walk to the bathroom, but it might not be close enough for those who need to get there asap when they wake up, in which case, they should choose one of the other two cabins instead. The property is cool and shady, with good energy. I felt very safe and would gladly stay there again.

Amongst The Redwoods

Staying on Nathan’s property was like living amongst the redwood trees. Even though we didn’t have great weather, hearing rain fall through that many trees and land on that many windows was absolutely wonderful. My girlfriend and I had a much-needed relax and recharge kind of trip. I can’t wait to go back when the weather is better!

Absolutely loved staying at Nathin’s place! His cabin is so charming and cozy, and his land is absolutely magical. Kitchen was well equipped, and the wood burning stove kept the house perfectly toasty on some pretty cold nights. Can’t wait to go back soon!

My wife, our dog, and I recently stayed at this beautiful log cabin and it was an absolute dream. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how immaculately clean the cabin was—it felt so well cared for, which made settling in that much more enjoyable. The space itself was perfect—plenty of room for all of us to relax, but still warm and inviting. The wood-burning fireplace was the highlight of our stay, making the entire cabin feel incredibly cozy. Whether we were curled up with a book or just enjoying the flickering fire, it created the perfect atmosphere for a peaceful retreat. The cabin is nestled on gorgeous forested land, which made for an incredibly tranquil experience. Waking up to the sounds of nature and being surrounded by towering trees was exactly what we needed to unwind. If you're looking for a peaceful, cozy, and impeccably clean escape in Mendocino, we can't recommend this cabin enough.
