Nice to visit if it's quiet
We really enjoyed our stay at Roskilly. The farm is a wonderful place to visit, we rocked up on Thursday night to a live band, lovely food and a nice cool beer for the belly! It has cute animals and there is a cracking beach a short romp away. The camping side of things is however very basic. It's a field, which had more nettles than you'd like, with a festival style block of toilets/showers and a separate tent with limited communal facilities for washing pots, a kettle and a freezer. It was super quiet while we were there though which we enjoyed, with no more than 2/3 other campers around us, and the facilities were kept clean and tidy through our visit, if it had been busy I'm not sure we would have had the same experience. NGL the showers weren't great heat/power wise but good enough if you can channel your inner submariner! There wasn't any interaction with us from any of the staff about camping for the whole visit and there isnt any check in when you get there or anything which felt a bit weird, but kind of fell in line with the impression we got, that the camping had been very much tagged on. In short I'd like to recommend Roskilly for a visit (if for the ice cream if nothing else!) but only for a short stay, especially if you have kids with you, it's not somewhere you could comfortably camp for a week with the current facilities, most of the people we encountered only stayed for one.
