Ereluk - Cabins, Campground and primitive Camp Sites. Ereluk as in 'look here - ere look' a little play on names as were nestled between the Aboriginal community Jodetluk and Nitmiluk. (Luk - means place or country in Jawoyn). Private, secluded, “Primitive Camp Sites” nestled around a 400 acre property in a unique Australian bush setting. Development has happened and we have been busy creating an all year round access site. Compacted Gravel access roads and both Camping and Caravan Pads located along the creek that flows in the wet around the campground. We have also added a camp Kitchen and basic toilet and shower block (Currently under construction and still will be if this note is present) along with 7 Powered Van sites. We still have the initial basic sites that were created for wet season access. These are a bit closer together as will be described in the description. Also a bit cheaper so happy campers all round! Ereluk - The true experience! Over The Creek - some of the best camping sites along the base of the escarpment are just waiting to be found. Yearly we fix up after the wet giving 4WD access to these hidden gems. A little more expensive but worth the extra for the views alone. On The Creek - Our most sort after sites! We have 3 sites only that are situated on the best part of the creek this block has to offer. Deep holes that are great for a swim with water so clear we drink it. Truly amazing and worth the extra $ for a sweet location. It is mostly 4WD access and all vans must be self-contained as no amenities, water or power are available at these sites. Those looking for a bush experience with plenty of activities to do during the day will not be disappointed.

For a short window of around 3 months we have campsites with swimming holes! Over The Creek - 4WD recommended and located on the creek banks with the best plunge hole. Not a lot of shade here but the best views of The Escarpment and the stars at night are next level. Price is per van per night but the site fits 4 Vans Comfortably. Ereluk - Delta - Camping on The Creek! Currently we do not have swimming holes until the next wet. For a short window of around 3 months we have campsites with swimming holes! Set on a high bank above the creek with the natural relaxing sound of bubbling water in the background. Views of The Escarpment and the stars at night are next level. Price is per van per night but this site fits 3 Vans Comfortably. If you are traveling in a group and would like to add extra vans to this site please use the extra option or contact the host to arrange.

Perfect for the day tripper, this site is located meters off the sealed Gorge road and is accessible by 2WD during the dry season but better suited to a 4WD. A little out of the way this site is located at the bottom of the loop track and will be quiet and has some shade. A lovely cleared flat area ideal for the bigger vans and larger group/family. Slightly sloping surface with easy access to reverse a van in to the perfect position. This site was developed during the wet and has all year access. This is one of our budget sites. This site is out of the way and quiet.

Site 2. Bilby is located alongside site 1. Wombat. You will possibly have neighbors. This a 2WD access site that is found directly on the left when entering off the sealed Gorge Road. Located next to the road there will be some road noise. Under 5 minute drive to the beautiful Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk) this is a great pull in site for those wanting easy access.

Requires REVERSING to access; Perfect for the day tripper, or those wanting to stay a few day's and explore, this site is located meters off the sealed Gorge road and is accessible by 2WD. Access to this site is a 30 meter straight with no turning circle - you will need to REVERSE In or Out! A big flat, hard level surface allows for the van to remained hitched. This site was developed during the wet and has all year access. A perfect example of the red dirt and rock landscape this site is surrounded by conglomerate rocks and salmon gums. This is one of our budget sites.

Fantastic place with so much room to explore, hosts are super helpful and lovely. I will be camping here on the regular! Can't wait to see what they do with the cabins and powered sites while still retaining the existing bush camps. The perfect mix

We enjoyed our stay at the Escarpment hipcamp. Was a great base while we explored Nitmiluk National Park and Katherine township. We would recommend and book again if we end up back in the area.

We spent a lovely peaceful night at the Escarpment, Lizard camp and only a five minute drive in the morning to our Nitmiluk Cruise. The site was level and offered a little shade, but more importantly for us plenty of clear sky to help with solar and Starlink connection.

Wayne was very helpful and generously provided some local knowledge which made our visit to the area that extra bit special. Wayne was kind enough to go out of his way to help sort out a refund for us when we accidentally double booked. Very happy with our stay.

We stayed here for two nights in one of the ‘on the creek’ sites. The view from our site was beautiful really lovely country side, roaming buffalo, bird life and a view of the escarpment. We had paid top dollar ($65/ night) for a site on the creek with ‘deep holes that are great for a swim with water so clear we drink it’. This was definitely not the case - there was very little water and you definitely wouldn’t be swimming in it or drinking it. Based on this the camp felt very overpriced. If booking now be aware that the description given doesn’t match the reality. With that said we enjoyed our two nights.

Cracking spot on the doorstep of Nitmiluk national park. Camp spot was quiet and the backdrop of the ranges were top shelf. Only downside is the amount of bulldust on the campgrounds ringroad. That said still a 9/10 camp highly recommend

We loved our 4 nights at Wayne’s remote camp. So beautiful and peaceful under the escarpment of Nitmiluk. Magnificent sunsets, walks, bird life and plantlife all within a quick drive to the Nitmiluk Gorge. Wayne was a generous, thoughtful and friendly host. We certainly recommend his camp and hope to return!

Loved our stay here. It's located close to the gorge and is nice and secluded. Wayne checks on new arrivals to make sure everyone is happy. Next time will stay at one of the creek sites as they looked really good.

Great spot, close to park walks and much more affordable than anything else in the area! We chose a big sunny site for solar and it was excellent. Large site and heaps of privacy. Friendly host and great views. Would recommend if you're after something simple and easy.

I loved my stay here! Only a few minutes from Katherine Gorge and is a very quiet and beautiful spot with well spaced out sites. Wayne is great too, full of local knowledge. Will definitely be back!

What a Gem! This place is absolutely magical. Wayne is the perfect host Do yourself a favour and get a spot over the creek. So close to the national park and everything else Katherine has to offer. Perfect sunsets on the hill Cheers Wayne we will definitely be back 🤙

We had such a lovely time here. A few shady trees and nice flat spot. Wayne was a champion, really helpful and around to ask questions. He gave us a cool swim spot and a beautiful sunset point to visit.

Oh we loved this place so much. Head across the creek if you can it’s worth it. We stayed here for a week and explored all Nitmiluk had to offer plus the swimming hole Wayne showed us. Wayne is an awesome host and this place is breathtaking. No facilities and no neighbours! Kids ran wild and had a ball. Thanks so much for having us. We will be back. Still so much left to explore!

We loved our time camping with Wayne & his family. So welcoming and gave great hospitality. Awesome little swimming hole we had to ourselves. The rules aren’t right you can have a fire - and there is plenty of wood available. Thanks Wayne & we can’t wait to visit again. The Owen & Jones Families

Site is a good size and also offers afternoon sun. Just be aware of all the bulldust through the sites. You want to keep everything shut and have a good shade cloth because it gets everywhere especially when cars come through
