Amazing place, from peace and quiet to the fishing and scenery - you won’t find much better than this! The drive in itself is worth the trip, and then stack the amazing camp sites and river on top and it’s the makings of the perfect weekend away.

This spot is perfect to relax by the river. We will be back :-)

It is such a scenic place to stay and the location is actually quite convenient if you need a quick trip to a nearby supermarket to re-stock. We went there probably in the worst weather with pouring rain and strong wind. The owner came over several times over the stay, asked if we needed anything and make sure we were alright. The farm dog was super friendly and lovely. I would definitely come back when the weather is good.

Absolutely stunning and very private. Easy to find and easy to park our camping trailer. Plenty of flat space by the river. We will definitely be back!

Attentive host offering spacious private pitches with fire pits and fresh eggs. Yufi warned us about some bad weather incoming overnight and made sure we were okay and prepared.

We had a great time staying here. Hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Lots of room to camp and enjoyed the fire on an extremely cold weekend.

Don't know why people complain, it's a typical farm with a beautiful view, reasonable amenities like toilet and shower, if you want fancy go stay at a hotel, camping isn't for you. the host Craig was an absolute Gentleman, stressed if there's anything I need at all to just ask no matter how late or early, feel free to knock on the door to the main house and ask. Will be likely staying on my way back south, no complaints at all! Thanks for your hospitality Craig!

We had an amazing stay at this place. Despite booking just 15 minutes before arriving, the host knew we were coming, making navigation to the site easy and hassle free. Our tent had a beautiful water view, and we were thrilled to find a firepit with plenty of fallen branches to use as firewood. The host was kind enough to welcome some of our friends for a short visit without any hesitation, which was greatly appreciated. One of the most unforgettable moments was witnessing the aurora and the galaxy for the under a perfectly clear sky an experience beyond words. In the morning, we enjoyed interacting with the ducks and alpacas, adding a wonderful touch to our stay. The toilets were impressively clean, making the camping experience all the more comfortable. Overall, a fantastic place with a thoughtful and accommodating host. Highly recommend!

1 night at Miranda Springs Farm Stay

Yifu was great, and the site is amazing. Great hosts who made sure we were well placed for a long weekend. It was lovely to be invited up to see all the baby animals, and the egg deliveries both mornings was a brilliant surprise. Toilets are great. There is Telstra reception. And it's 25 minutes from Gungahlin. Not the most private campsite during the day, but there is plenty of space so it doesn't matter and we weren't interrupted by anyone else. We will be back!

We recently stayed at Miranda Springs Hipcamp and were blown away by how peaceful and private it was. Tucked away from the hustle, it offered complete serenity—just the sounds of nature and wide open space to unwind. The campsite was well-maintained, super clean, and easy to access, but still felt remote enough to really switch off and relax. It’s the kind of place where you can truly disconnect, sit by the fire under the stars, and forget about everything else for a while. If you’re chasing solitude, quiet, and a slice of nature all to yourself, this is the one. We’ll definitely be back. 🙌🔥🌌

If you’re chasing peace, privacy, and that feeling of being completely off-grid without actually roughing it, this place nails it. Super quiet, surrounded by nature, and with plenty of space to spread out and unwind — exactly what we needed.

2 nights at Goolabri Estate

Great Value for money. Close Proximity to Canberra. Lots of choice sites. Plenty of firewood close by if you look for it. Toilet bins haven’t been emptied in a while - hate to imagine what might be lurking in there. Lots of Kangaroos, Rabbits and seen a few dingoes too. Don’t worry about the firearm shots - they are probably coming from the gun clubs close by; or dealing with the vermin, not sure. Defiantly spot the aircraft underbelly or pennant; and enjoy the hum of the highway. Don’t expect a message reply from Dan in a hurry.

Southern Tablelands Bush Camping

Peaceful unspoilt bush and farm land on the Great Dividing Range. 1 hour from Canberra, 3 hours from Sydney. Turn off highway down 6.5km private gravel road, then follow short dirt tracks into campsites. Suits tents, rooftop tents and camper trailers. Not suitable for caravans or motor homes. Choice of two secluded campgrounds over 1km apart; only one private group per campground. Campfires allowed when conditions permit, free firewood supplied. No services (power, water, sewerage, rubbish collection or wifi). Peppermint Gum Group Campground is well established and suits larger groups of friends or 2-3 families (max 16 guests). Several kilometres of marked walking trails within the property. Explore the creek line, hike up the mountain to the old stone trig point, walk to the swimming hole on the creek with jetty, picnic area and rowboat. Numerous picnic spots. A swimming dam, jetty, and picnic sites are accessible via marked walking and driving tracks. There are also several kms of walking tracks directly from the campsite along Sandhills Creek and the 'mountain paddock'. Owners live further along the road on the property, and can be contacted if needed. A separate AirBnB house is located on the property; please respect the privacy of fellow guests.

THE MEADOW

The Meadow is situated on the Hoskinstown Plains. The property offers long views across the plain and the surrounding rolling hills. Yarracoola is a working sheep farm, carrying 300 to 400 merino ewes and additional lambs, depending upon the time of year. Lambing occurs during September & October. Wattle Run

Located just 10 mins from Goulburn CBD within the picturesque Southern Tablelands area, Wattle Run is a beautiful 100 acre secluded property with plenty of wildlife and spectacular views over the valley into Goulburn. Walk to the top and experience the local sheep industry history as well as shop local produce and giftware. Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120-acre (50-hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family. Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, put in watering infrastructure and built our house which we finally moved in when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990. Over the ensuing years we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity and food. If your lucky you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season. Around the dome is a firepit, drinking water and a camp kitchen. The firepit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use. We also allow for your pets to stay onsite, this also includes horses. Mike Shepherd has been running Back to Basics living camps here for more then 30 years and we now want to invite campers to our picturesque Yurt village. We can show kids what farm life is all about and how to make fun in the bush or you can just come and enjoy the peace and quiet. Apart from abundant wildlife we farm sheep and Scottish Highland cattle. We also have lots of horses and dogs and you can collect fresh eggs from our chickens. Take a stroll through our gardens, a hike to the Peace yurt and boil the Billy or learn about growing vegetables. We have toilets and a kitchen yurt for your convenience. MOUNTAIN VIEW RETREAT

We are located a short drive from Tumut in the Snowy Mountains region. Pitch your tent or RV overlooking the gorgeous mountains. We are half a kilometre from the main road behind locked gates, and just 10 minutes from town for all your supply needs. There are plenty of scenic walks and fishing spots nearby, at camp you can enjoy complete privacy. There is a shower and toilet available which is separate from the main residence. There is also bar fridge, large chest freezer, jug, toaster, and microwave available, We are on tank water and can offer drinking water. We ask that you are conservative with your water use, and we encourage you to bring your own. Enjoy waking up to the tranquil sounds of wildlife of all sorts, (not having to hear any traffic being 500meters off the main road). plus the views of the kangaroos in the mornings is pleasant too! The campsite is accessible by 2WD and we can accommodate all types of camping vehicles. You will need to level your vehicle depending on which site you choose. Town center is a 5 min drive or a short walk/ride, so access to town facilities and amenities is very convenient. Please refer to images for the latter. Firewood - please bring your own, we do not have firewood or fallen branches from trees. "Wombles Common" has a permanent fire pit area, all other sites require transportable fire pits (provided or bring your own). Please do not leave burn scars on the ground and please take your ashes with you or dump them in the "Wombles Common" fire pit area. River - the river is excellent for fun canoeing adventures. Entering the river is at your own risk. Fishing - great fishing in the river. We love the Red Fin! Pets - pets are welcome but need to be controlled. The safety and comfort of the resident sheep, our neighbours and other campers are a priority. Please don't not allow your pets to disturb (including barking, wandering or chasing sheep) the peace of those around them. 200 acres of beautiful farmland situated on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. Enjoy a campsite overlooking the stunning Brindabellas, a small spot next to the dam, if you bring your 4WD, or a fabulous site next to the old cottage that comes complete with a flushing loo! Our beautiful border collie, Sollie, will naturally want to come say hi no matter which site you pick. There are plenty of local food and wine venues in the surrounding area for you to enjoy. Pets are welcome but we do have livestock on the property, so please keep them on leash. Campfires are allowed as long as there are no fire restrictions in place. All campers must have their own supplies and be self sufficient as we do not supply any amenities: you will need to be self-contained with own camping toilet, shower and water. Please do not dig a toilet hole, even though you leave it covered, it doesn't take long for the foxes to dig it up!! There is mobile reception. No shooting, archery or hunting. Camper trailers and caravans are welcome but can only stay at the easily accessible camp site.
